Betty Buswell, 87, of Jefferson, passed away March 19, 2021, at the Greene County Medical long term care in Jefferson. No services were held in accordance with her wishes. Burial will be in the Jefferson Municipal Cemetery.
Betty Joanne Buswell was born the daughter of Henry and Mary (Michael) Tuhn, December 12, 1933, in Bristol Township, Greene County. She grew up in Farlin and when she was 8 years old, the family moved to Jefferson where she attended school. Later, she worked for a chicken processor and at an egg plant. She also helped in a family home caring for the children.
On June 23, 1962, Betty Tuhn was married to Donald Buswell at the Churdan Baptist Church. Together Betty and Don raised a family of seven children. They made their home on a farm north of Jefferson. Betty and Don were later divorced and Betty made her home in Jefferson until 2012, when she became a resident of long term care at Greene County Medical Center.
Betty loved bowling and was a member of women’s bowling teams for many years. She also enjoyed playing bingo, visiting Las Vegas, gardening and fishing.
Betty is survived by her children; Linda (Larry) Booth of Bagley, Dorene (Jack) Tuhn of Jefferson, Don (Ann) Buswell of Carroll, Sheri Parks of Ogden and Susan (John) Harmon of Slater; her sister Marilyn (Harvey) Ganoe of Jefferson: 20 grandchildren; and 39 great-grandchildren.
Those who preceded her in death were her parents; sons Ronald and Michael; brother and his wife Robert and Jean Tuhn; grandchildren Jennifer Parks and Curtis Parks; daughter-in-law Kathy Buswell; and son-in-law Pete Parks.
